Undergraduate Medical & Dental Exchange Program 2021

For Egyptian Candidates

A- Introduction:

Medical Exchange Program (MEP) is a bilateral program between EAIMS and other international medical & dental organizations, aiming to promote understanding and cooperation amongst students, doctors and all health professionals allover the world through exchange-training clinical clerkships for foreign and Egyptian candidates.

B- Exchange Conditions:

1- Level of Studies: Certified Undergraduate Clinical Clerkship.

Allowed students: Medical and Dental Students from Cairo University only

           - Medical students who will be in 2021 in their 3rd, 4th, 5th & Emtiaz years.

           - Dental students who will be in 2021 in their pre-final, final & Emtiaz years.

2- Available Medical/Dental Fields: All medical & dental fields are available. You MUST include General Surgery & Internal Medicine in your choices. Legally; trained applicants will be Observers. Head Scarf is not allowed at operation rooms.

3- Training Language: English, (German is a must for Pediatrics, Emergency, Psychiatry in Germany & Austria). In general, speaking the German language is a big advantage in Germany and Austria.

4- Duration of Clerkship: one calendar month (4 weeks), (10 working hours daily from 7am-5pm, 5 days a week & 2 days weekend Saturdays and Sundays).

5- Available countries and their corresponding clerkships’ months & fees:

NB1: Fees are mostly divided into: (Registration 300 Egyptian Pounds, International Paperwork Process 6000 Egyptian Pounds, Clerkship 500 Euro, Refundable Insurance 200 Euro, Optional Accommodation 450 Euro in average).
NB2: Emtiaz will train abroad only in General Surgery or Internal Medicine and their sub-specialties. We will not change any departments choices for Emtiaz. Emtiaz must arrange their rotations in Cairo according to their elective choice abroad.

6- Accommodation Abroad for 4 weeks (Optional):

- At the University hostel mainly or at an equivalent hostel or hotel according to availability. University hostels abroad are mixed hostels with shared kitchen and bathrooms. It costs 450 Euro in average/month.

- University hostels are occupied in November & February. Equivalent hostel, hotel or hotel apartment will be offered.

- Applicant must sign an individual contract with the accommodation place. Refundable insurance fee must be paid upon arrival to the accommodation place. The insurance fee will not be refunded if the accommodation place left damaged, unclean or unorganized or key is lost.

7- Meals Abroad:

- Meals are subjected for personal variations. Therefore meals are excluded from the budget.

- Meals are provided at the training hospital and University restaurants at very low prices (5 euro in average per meal).

8- Special Remarks:

(1)    Medical Exchange Program (MEP) applicants should be good representatives for their sending country, faculty & organization. Also MEP applicants should respect the morals and tradition of the hosting country, faculty, hospital, organization and accommodation place.

(2)   Any unaccepted behavior done by the MEP applicant, will be a direct cause for termination of the training and accommodation program by hosting faculty and organization.

(3)    MEP applicants will afford the cost of their plane tickets, transport, meals & outings. In case of early arrival before the beginning of the clinical clerkship, MEP applicants shall be responsible for their personal board and lodging. Same applies in case they extend their stay after the clinical clerkship. Any company with MEP applicants (e.g. a relative or a friend) shall be responsible for his/her personal board and lodging.

(4)    MEP applicants will be received at faculty of training abroad by an official representative.

(5)    MEP applicants must attend all days of the training program days in order to get the training certificates and refund the insurance fees. Each applicant must provide a proof of regular training attendance to the hosting organization otherwise the training program will be terminated.

        4) CV with a recent photo (See Guide)

        5) General Motivation Letter (See Guide)

        6) 2 General Recommendation Letters (See Guide)

        7) 2 Admission & 1 Grades Certificates from your Faculty

        8) 2 copies of first 4 pages of passport valid for the next 2 years at least.

            Issuing a new passport is recommended.

        9) A copy of Travel Health Insurance covering the 4 weeks training abroad.

        10) Health Documents: (See Guide: Immunization Form)

              Please fill in, sign and stamp the immunization form by a family doctor:

          - Vaccination Certificates (MMR, Varicella, HAV, HBV, DPT, Polio, TB). 

          - Negative Serology (HCV, HIV).

          - Chest X-ray Report: TB Free.

          - Special Tests for COVID-19 may be requested by some universities abroad.

10- Deadlines: All required documents & fees must be sent to EAIMS on time otherwise your clerkship will be cancelled.

C- Online Registration:

Online registration is extended till 30 November 2020. Only during the registration period, please send the following documents scanned as one PDF file via Facebook messenger to Our-Team EAIMS:

       1. Filled Registration Forms (Download: Choices Form, Outgoings Application Form & CV)
       2. Copy of your current Faculty ID card or enrollment certificate
       3. Copy of your passport valid for the next 2 years at least

       4. Bank receipt with deposit of registration fee (300 Egyptian Pounds)

After online registration, we will add you to our Facebook group. On our Facebook group, the following steps will take place online:

1. Orientation Session and Exchange Exam.

2. Results and Matching.

3. Payments deadlines.

4. Submission of the remaining required documents.

5. Sending all names & applications to partner Universities abroad.

Postgraduate Medical & Dental Exchange Program 2021/2

For Egyptian Candidates

 Online Registration:

 Starts on 15 January 2021 and ends on 15 March 2021

A- Definition & Aims:

International Postgraduate Exchange Program is a bilateral program between EAIMS and other international medical organizations, aiming to promote understanding and cooperation amongst medical & dental physicians allover the world through the exchange-training opportunities for foreign and Egyptian medical & dental physicians.

B- Exchange Conditions:

1- Level of Studies: Certified Postgraduate training for Master Degree or MD Degree holders working at Kasr Alaini Medical or Dental Faculty – Cairo University.

2- Medical/Dental Fields: All are available. Legally; applicants will be Observers.

3- Duration: Up to 4 weeks, during the academic year 2021/2022, from 1 October 2021 to 30 June 2022, (10 working hours daily, 7am to 5pm, 5 days a week & 2 days weekend Saturdays and Sundays).

4- Language: English. German is a must in Pediatrics, Psychiatry in Germany & Austria. In general, speaking the German language is a big advantage in Germany and Austria.

5- Available faculties & countries:

                            - Cologne-Germany: 4 medical doctors (German language B1 is required)

                            - Vienna-Austria: 2 medical doctors

                            - Innsbruck-Austria: 2 doctors (1 Medical & 1 Dental)
