Medical and Dental Exchange Programs for Egyptian Undergraduate & Postgraduate Candidates  NEW 2018

 

Now, all interested medical & dental undergraduate and postgraduate candidates in Egypt are welcome to join the following Exchange Programs:

Undergraduate Medical & Dental Exchange Program 2018

For Egyptian Candidates

 Registration - Wednesday 20 December 2017, 3 pm at MEDC.

 

 

 

A- Introduction:

 

Medical Exchange Program (MEP) is a bilateral program between EAIMS and other international medical & dental organizations, aiming to promote understanding and cooperation amongst students, doctors and all health professionals allover the world through exchange-training clinical clerkships for foreign and Egyptian candidates.

 

B- Exchange Conditions:

 

1- Level of Studies: Certified Undergraduate Clinical Clerkship. Allowed students: Medical students of the 3,4,5 & Emtiaz years - Dental students of final & 3rd year only.


2- Available Medical/Dental Fields: All medical & dental fields are available. You MUST include General Surgery & Internal Medicine in your choices. Legally; trained applicants will be Observers. Head Scarf is not allowed at operation rooms.

 

3- Training Language: English, (German is a must for Pediatrics, Emergency, Psychiatry in Germany & Austria). In general, speaking the German language is a big advantage in Germany and Austria.

 

4- Duration of Clerkship: one calendar month (4 weeks), (10 working hours daily from 7am-5pm, 5 days a week & 2 days weekend Saturdays and Sundays).

NB1: Mixed Nationality= Egyptian + American, Canadian or European nationalities.

NB2: Fees are mostly divided into: (Administrative Fee 300 Euro+1000 LE, Accommodation 450 Euro in average, Refundable insurance 200 Euro).

NB3: Emtiaz Girls only can choose between: Vienna Nov, Graz Feb and Canada Feb.
NB4: Canada extra documents:
Free chest X-ray, vaccination certificates, Medical Malpractice Insurance (~ 1000 USD), signed and stamped McMaster University Forms.
NB5: Emtiaz will train abroad only in General Surgery or Internal Medicine. We will not change any departments choices for Emtiaz. Emtiaz must arrange their rotations in Cairo according to their elective choice abroad.

 

6- Accommodation Abroad for 4 weeks (Optional):

- At the University hostel mainly or at an equivalent hostel or hotel according to availability. University hostels abroad are mixed hostels with shared kitchen and bathrooms. It costs 450 Euro in average/month.

- University hostels are occupied in November & February. Equivalent hostel, hotel or hotel apartment will be offered.

- Applicant must sign an individual contract with the accommodation place. Refundable insurance fee must be paid upon arrival to the accommodation place. The insurance fee will not be refunded if the accommodation place left damaged, unclean or unorganized or key is lost.

 

7- Meals Abroad:

- Meals are subjected for personal variations. Therefore meals are excluded from the budget.

- Meals are provided at the training hospital and University restaurants at very low prices (5 euro in average per meal).

 

8- Special Remarks:

(1)    Medical Exchange Program (MEP) applicants should be good representatives for their sending country, faculty & organization. Also MEP applicants should respect the morals and tradition of the hosting country, faculty, hospital, organization and accommodation place.

(2)    Any unaccepted behavior done by the MEP applicant, will be a direct cause for termination of the training and accommodation program by hosting faculty and organization.

(3)    MEP applicants will afford the cost of their plane tickets, transport, meals & outings. In case of early arrival before the beginning of the clinical clerkship, MEP applicants shall be responsible for their personal board and lodging. Same applies in case they extend their stay after the clinical clerkship. Any company with MEP applicants (e.g. a relative or a friend) shall be responsible for his/her personal board and lodging.

(4)    MEP applicants will be received at faculty of training abroad by an official representative.

(5)    MEP applicants should attend all days of the training program days in order to get the training certificates and refund the insurance fees. Each applicant must provide a proof of regular training attendance to the hosting organization otherwise the training program will be terminated.

8)   A copy of Travel Health Insurance covering the 4 weeks training abroad. 
9)   Health Documents (See Guide: Immunization Form. Please fill in, sign and stamp this form by a family doctor)
          - Vaccination Certificates (MMR, Varicella, HAV, HBV, DPT, Polio, TB). 
          - Negative Serology (HCV, HIV).
          - Chest X-ray Report: TB Free.
10) Copy of First 4 pages of Passport Valid till 8 months after travel at least. Issuing New Passport is recommended.

 

 

10- Deadlines: All required documents & fees must be sent to EAIMS on time otherwise your clerkship will be cancelled.

 

 

C- Registration:

At the Medical Education Development Center (MEDC), Faculty of Medicine Kasr Alaini;

 

- Orientation, Registration (200 LE) and MCQ Exam:
Wednesday 20 December 2017:
(All Medical and Dental students)

3 pm, at the Medical Education Development Center (MEDC) Ground Floor, Faculty of Medicine Kasr Alaini.

 

NB1: MCQ Exam Curriculum for Medical Students; History taking & physical examination - First aids - Diabetes – Hypertension – Tuberculosis (TB) - Liver cirrhosis – Renal Failure – Shock – Wound Healing - Sexually Transmitted Diseases (STD).

 

NB2: MCQ Exam Curriculum for Dental Students; Dental Materials - Operative Dentistry - Fixed Prosthodontics - Removable Prosthodontics –Radiology – Pedodontics – Periodontology - Oral Medicine - Oral Surgery - General Dental Knowledge.

Very Important Note: All through the exchange paperwork process, the ONLY EAIMS way to contact you is via our closed Facebook group Therefore you have to check it daily; otherwise you will be responsible for not being informed.

   2- Postgraduates International Exchange Programs 2018

 

Postgraduate Medical & Dental Exchange Program 2018

For Egyptian Candidates

 Registration - Wednesday 27 December 2017, 11 am at MEDC.

 

 

 

A- Definition & Aims:

International Postgraduate Exchange Program is a bilateral program between EAIMS and other international medical organizations, aiming to promote understanding and cooperation amongst medical & dental physicians allover the world through the exchange-training opportunities for foreign and Egyptian medical & dental physicians.

 

 

B- Exchange Conditions:

1- Level of Studies: Certified Postgraduate training for Master Degree or MD Degree holders working at Kasr Alaini Medical or Dental Faculty – Cairo University.

2- Medical/Dental Fields: All are available. Legally; applicants will be Observers.

3- Duration: One calendar month (4 weeks), during the academic year 2018/2019, from 1 October 2018 to 30 June 2019, (10 working hours daily, 7am to 5pm, 5 days a week & 2 days weekend Saturdays and Sundays).

4- Language: English. German is a must in Pediatrics, Psychiatry in Germany & Austria. In general, speaking the German language is a big advantage in Germany and Austria.

5- Available faculties & countries:

                            - Cologne-Germany: 4 medical doctors

                            - Vienna-Austria: 2 medical doctors

                            - Innsbruck - Austria: 2 doctors (1 Medical & 1 Dental)

                            - Graz-Austria: 4 doctors (2 Medical & 2 Dental)

6- Cost per person: Administrative Fee 400 Euro and Refundable Insurance 200 Euro.

 

7- Accommodation abroad for 4 weeks (Arranged by the applicant):

- At the University hostel mainly or at an equivalent hostel or hotel or hotel apartment according to availability.

- University hostels abroad are mixed hostels with shared kitchens & bathrooms. It costs in average 450 euro/month.

- If University hostels are occupied during the academic year, equivalent hostel, hotel or hotel apartment will be offered.

- Applicant must sign an individual contract with the accommodation place. Insurance fee must be paid upon arrival to the accommodation place. The insurance fee will not be refunded if the accommodation place left damaged, unclean or unorganized or key is lost.

 

8- Special Remarks:

- Applicants should be good representatives for their sending country, faculty and organization.

- Applicants should follow the morals and traditions of the hosting country, medical faculty, organization and accommodation place. Any unaccepted behavior done by the applicants, will be strongly faced on the spot by both hosting and sending medical faculties and organizations.

- Applicants will afford the cost of their airplane tickets, transportation and outings.

- Any company with applicants (e.g. a relative) shall be responsible for his/her personal board & lodging.

- In case of early arrival before the beginning of the training, applicants shall be responsible for their personal board and lodging. Same applies in case they extend their stay after the training.

6) Motivation Letter (Written by the Applicant).

7) Recommendation letter (Written by Prof).

8) Original Master or MD Degree Certificate.

9) Arabic Contract (See guide).

10) Health Documents: (See Guide: Immunization Form. Please fill in, sign and stamp this form by a family doctor)

11. Travel Health Insurance.

10- Deadlines: All required documents & fees must be sent to EAIMS on time.

 

 

C- Registration:

 

- Wednesday 27 December 2017 – 11 am at MEDC: All Original Required Documents & Fees must be introduced by hand to the concerned EAIMS Coordinator (Tel: 01068111081). Also all documents must be sent via Email as scanned attachments to (eaims_gm@yahoo.com).

 

- Wednesday 3 January 2018 - 8 pm online: Selection will be done according to qualifications of applicants and availability at training departments. Selection will be announced on EAIMS website: http://www.eaims.net.

Non-selected applicants will refund their Fees totally.

 

- One month before travel: Official Invitation Letters from our International Partner Faculties abroad are expected to be received to start Visa regulations.
