1- Definition & Aims

 

The Clinical Clerkships Programs (CCP) are international programs through which the international undergraduate and postgraduate candidates can apply individually and directly online to join clinical electives in Cairo - Egypt in the following fields and their related subspecialties: Human Medicine - Dentistry - Pharmacy - Physiotherapy - Nursing.

a) Attractions inside Cairo: Visiting Pyramids, sphinx, Saqqarah, Egyptian Museum, Cairo Citadel, Khan El Khalily Bazaar, Islamic Cairo, Coptic Cairo, Cairo Tower, Coffee shops, shopping malls, Down Town especially at night, Nile cruise ……

NB1: We always recommend to have a good guide book (Lonely Planet - Egypt) not only to explain what you’re seeing but to put it all in historical and cultural perspective.

 

NB2: For transportation in Cairo, Uber, Careem and SWVL (Ride Sharing Services) are widely used, in addition to regular taxis, Metro (Subway) and other public transportation.

 4- Conditions 

 

"According to their fields and subspecialties; all interested international undergraduate and postgraduate candidates are welcomed to apply individually and directly online to join the clinical clerkships programs."

 

1- Available Fields: All of the following fields and their related subspecialties are available: Human Medicine - Dentistry - Pharmacy - Physiotherapy - Nursing.

2- Level & Place  of Studies: Both certified undergraduate and postgraduate studies are available, at  Cairo University, Faculties of: Human Medicine, Dentistry, Pharmacy, Physiotherapy & Nursing.

3- Clerkship Training: English is the training language. 80% attendance is obligatory to get the training certificate. NB: Please bring stethoscope, white coat & operation room suit to change in the hospital.

4- Available Months: All through the year, and the Period of Clerkship is determined by the candidate.

5- Working Hours and Days: 6 working hours daily (9am : 3pm) & 5 working days weekly.   

6- EAIMS Administrative Fee (requested upon arrival): 400 euro. NB: Students from following Universities are welcomed without paying any Administrative Fee due to our Bilateral Cooperation Agreements;

       4- Würzburg - Germany

       5- Lund - Sweden

8- Special Remarks:
. CCP applicants should follow the morals and tradition of our country, medical faculty and organization.

. CCP applicants will afford the cost of their airplane tickets, transportation & outings.

. CCP applicants should follow the instructions of the accommodation place, as they would be responsible for paying the cost of any damage or loses if unfortunately happened.

. Any company with CCP applicants (e.g. a relative or a friend) shall be responsible for his/her personal board and lodging.
. In case of early arrival before the beginning of the clinical clerkship, CCP applicants shall be responsible for their personal board and lodging. Same applies in case they extend their stay after the clinical clerkship.

. CCP applicants will be received at the Faculty by an official EAIMS representative to introduce them to the training departments.

. CCP applicants should attend not less than 80% of the training program days in order to get the EAIMS training certificates. However CCP applicants will be responsible to get their own forms and logbooks signed and stamped by the supervising doctor at the training department.

 

9- Cultural Differences:

As any Oriental Country; Egypt has a conservative culture. However, due to its rich history, you can find many inter-cultural interactions especially in the following big cities which seem to be more International; Cairo, Giza, Alexandria, Shram-Elsheikh, Hurghada, Luxor, Aswan,... 10- EAIMS Weekly Meeting:

EAIMS Coordinators will meet you weekly in a fixed time to discuss all issues related to the program and  listen to your feedbacks. At least 1 week before departure:

1- Please inform us by your exact departure date, time and place for final confirmation & arrangement.

2- Please make sure that you get your EAIMS training certificate (E-Certificate via email) and you also get your own forms and logbook signed and stamped by the supervising doctor at the training department.

3- Please make sure that you write your feedback in the Evaluation Form (please fill it online).

 5- Registration

 

a) Please fill in the online Application Form (AF) on our web site then send it to us as well as the following 10 documents at least 3 months before the beginning of your clerkship:

1. Cover Letter for your package enumerating the enclosed documents.

2. Copy of the filled application form (Print PDF).
3. C.V.  (Curriculum Vitae) with a recent professional photo.

4. Two recent professional photos.
5. A copy of your valid passport.
6. Motivation Letter.
7. Recommendation letter from your institution directed to: The head of EAIMS Trustees Board.

8. Recommendation letter from your institution directed to: Vice Dean of the related Cairo Faculty.

9. A copy of valid travel health insurance coverage certificate, and Vaccinations Records including COVID-19 vaccination.

10. Cost Letter: A written & signed confirmation of paying the EAIMS Administrative Fee (400 euro upon arrival), as well as your responsibility to pay all your personal living costs in Egypt including; board, lodging, transportation, outings and other miscellaneous costs as medical treatment if unfortunately necessary. NB: Students from following Universities are welcomed without paying any Administrative Fee due to our Bilateral Cooperation Agreements;

b) After we receive your Application Form (AF) and  your original documents, we will send you the Official Invitation Letter (OIL) by Email at least 2 months before the beginning of your clerkship. The invitation letter will contain the details of the EAIMS final acceptance in order to help you to obtain the entry visa to Egypt that you may get it now online if necessary (Official Link: Egypt E-Visa Portal).

 

c) After you receive the Official Invitation letter (OIL), please fill in the online Card of Confirmation (CC) on our web site then send it to us at least 1 month before the beginning of your clerkship.
